Westerners used to say that beauty was born in Greece. The work of Zoi Pappa may be an example of this. Its surreal universe is built through particles that invite the viewer to approach so much to discover it that it can easily end up plunging into it, as if it were a rabbit inviting its universe of wonders.
If the figurative or even the most abstract painting usually shows an image or concept easily apprehensible at a distance, Pappa presents a microcosm that forces us to forget the surroundings to focus solely and exclusively on her painting. Once inside it, we navigate between insects, petals, wings, thorns, but always with enough space to fill with our sensibility / imagination. An aesthetic therapy that can cure any problem that weighs on our soul and leave in it only place for beauty.
